Our facility is implementing this MMO. Thoughts from others who have done so?

We installed one in place of an IVS on one of our PSM's as a test. Found it worked pretty well. Have to make sure there's a tray straightener for it. Alignment angle and sensitivity adjustment ( so that each sensor only sees half of a tray ) are touchy and critical. But once that's fine tuned it seemed to do a great job. We recommended that these be put in place for the LVS sensors as well. That was a few months ago and management hasn't given the green light yet. In the meantime, our IVS sensors have been replaced by the new PDS on both our PSM's.

In the 26 years I've been here, we've never had IVS's. Now we have PDS's on all 4 sorters. We now also have these new Sick sensors for all our LVS's. The rush was on, and of the eight sets installed, only 2 sets have decent tray stabilizers. So forget about the fine tuning..... They do detect loads our previous sensors missed, but our phantoms are way up, as you can guess. Recommended stabilizers, but we'll see. For now, it's a done deal.
